FSA seeks chair, molecular biologist

The UK’s FSA is seeking a new chair and an expert molecular biologist to join its Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP).

Any foods not commonly consumed in the EU before 2007 have to go through the novel foods clearance procedure. The FSA’s panel, which meets up to three times a year, deals with applications sent via the UK.

The agency is expecting to make the appointments – which are unsalaried and usually run for three years – in November.
